Swedish Body Massage (Introduction)
Swedish Massage 1 day 10am - 3pm Swedish body massage is the original massage technique involving a sequence of movements working superficially and deeper into the tissue layers. The term ‘Swedish massage' is generally a term applied to a variety of techniques designed to relax muscles by applying pressure to them, rubbing in the same direction as the flow of blood returning to the heart. The main purpose of Swedish massage is to increase the oxygen flow in the blood and release toxins from the muscles. Massage helps flush the tissues of harmful deposits such as lactic acid, uric acid, and other metabolic wastes - improving recovery time from muscular strain.
Sports & Remedial Massage (Introduction)
Sports Massage 2 days (10am - 3pm) The introductory course covers pre-event and post-event massage techniques, for use both before and after physical exertion. You will learn to combine different forms of massage and give advice on stretching exercises, to relieve pain and tension and promote wellbeing in clients ranging from those exercising for pleasure to the professional sports person.
Holistic Body Massage
Holistic Body Massage 1 day (10am - 3pm) Massage for the whole body through rhythmically applied pressure. Gentle pulling and stroking movements increase the circulation of the blood, stimulate the nerves and aid the removal of toxins by the lymphatic system. Aromatherapy oils can be used to exert healing and beneficial influences, or just to make you feel great!
Indian Head Massage
Indian Head Massage 1 day (10am - 3pm) This special form of massage works on the energy chakras and is a wonderful way of relieving stress and its effects on the systems of the body. Tension floats away through relaxation of the muscles and improved circulation to the brain helps to clear the mind and improve hair and scalp condition. The massage can be applied without clients having to disrobe and the use of oils is optional although beneficial.
Chinese Facial Massage
Chinese Facial Massage Half Day (10am - 12.30pm) Chinese Facial Massage is a unique and complementary blend of techniques drawn from other cultures. Using simple but very effective massage techniques involving meridians, acupressure points and lymphatic drainage Chinese Facial Massage provides a simple technique for keeping face muscles mobile, helping to slow down the aging process and reduce wrinkles.
Thai Foot Massage
Thai Foot Massage Half day (10am - 12.30pm) Thai Foot Massage takes it's origins from China where the art has been practiced for over 5000 years. Thai Foot Massage is a massage of the lower legs and feet that involves hands on stretching and massage to "open" Sen (energy) Lines.
